Talking about vaccination with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families

The information in this downloadable PDF is a guide for immunisation providers about creating a culturally safe space to build rapport to then enable better vaccination conversations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and families of all ages. It’s designed to support providers to feel comfortable to have these conversations, and strongly recommend vaccination.

Once you have built rapport, you are ready to have a vaccination conversation. For an example of a supportive flu vaccine yarn, see Example of a supportive flu vaccine yarn
